I'm not to take the credit for this, stole it off the uk.telecom list,
but again, thought you bargain hungry guys and gals might like to give
it a go!

Send the word "text" to 1127 to receive 30 free texts only orange payg
customers you may have to wait a few days to receive them but you will
have a text straight away off orange.

Or go to here : https://services.orange.co.uk/sms/send
login and get 30 free texts a month, only 120 chars though (will say
something like 'from www.orange.co.uk by <mobilenumber>)
You can also send texts as if they are coming from your phone but it costs
the normal rate.

Or just buy a textsaver http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C05JY/
which im sure everyone knows about by now.

But don't you have to cancel to avoid getting hit by a monthly charge
after the first month?

Hello again!

I've sent the text off to them, they've sent me a message back saying...

Hello from Orange: We'll send you a text when your 30 free messages have
been applied. Have fun and get texting!

So I would assume that it's not a permanent subscription as they'd
surely have to make you aware of it, however, if it is £2 a month
they'll have a hard time getting that from me as there's only about 87p
credit on the phone :)

I was thinking that any details of subscription might be referred to
in the notification text. I've only got 56p in credit - anyone poorer
than me? :)
